Pelling: A Splendid Destination

Pelling is a beautiful town in West Sikkim, 10 km from Geyzing and 130 km from Gangtok. It's renowned for panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga range, especially at sunrise and sunset.

The key attraction is Pemayangtse Monastery, only 3 km away. Built in the late 17th century, it belongs to the Nyingmapa order and offers majestic views and vibrant murals.

Rabdentse Ruins, the second capital of Sikkim, lies nearby. Once a royal citadel, it was abandoned due to invasions. Today, the ruins offer a glimpse into Sikkimese history.

How to Reach Pelling:

  1. By Air: Nearest airport is Bagdogra (West Bengal). Road journey to Pelling takes 6–7 hours.
  2. By Train: New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the nearest station. Taxis and buses are available to Pelling.
  3. By Bus: Buses connect Pelling with Siliguri and Gangtok. Check this link for SNT schedule.
  4. By Car: Accessible via NH31 from Siliguri. The road trip is scenic and rewarding.
