Latpanchar is highest part of Mahananda wildlife sanctuary.

Latpanchar,a beautiful mountain hamlet under Kalimpong district. Despite of stunning view of Majestic Mount Kanchanga, it offers beautiful green lush,many colourful birds,

The road to Latpanchar is narrow winding road and also steep.In the monsoon, the road is not maintained properly. The visitors come to this place to enjoy natural beauty of this place. Ahaldara is highest pont of mahananada wildlife sanctuary, 5 kms away from Latpanchar.Wide range of an exotic view is breath taking. Sunrise and amd majestic Kanchenjunga peaks are main attracrion of Ahaldara.Natural habitat of endangered salamandar

is at Uttar Purbo Shelpu. Namthang Pokhri , a seasonal lake located nearby.

Most people come to Latpanchar for Birdwatching and Bird photography. They would spend hours for watching and photographing. Only a few private accommodations are available at Latpanchar.

Cinco nest is the best accommodation for tourist in my opinion. One rest house which would be alloted by Darjeeling wildlife division of forest department at Latkothi. Latkothi is 4km from Latpanchar. The place of very adjucent to dense forest of Mahananda wildlife sanctury.
